CHARACTERISTICS: male with black body; female and juveniles more brownish; short yellow-orange beak; yellow eye contour.
FOOD: insects and berries.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: terrestrial; prefers dense vegetation areas; spends a lot of time on the ground looking for food; melodious song.
